En el 50è aniversari de l'aterratge lunar, recordem al Dr David Cardús (Barcelona 1922 – Houston 2003), el metge de l'espai.
El Dr. Cardús fou un cardiòleg i matemàtic. El 1957 va emigrar a l'EUA. La seva investigació es va centrar en la fisiologia de l'exercici i l'espai, col·laborant en la preparació de la primera missió tripulada de la NASA i en posteriors projectes conjunts de la NASA i Baylor.
On the 50th Anniversary of the lunar landing, we remember Dr. David Cardus (Barcelona 1922– Houston 2003), the Physician of Space.
Dr. Cardus was both a Cardiologist and Mathematician. In 1957 he immigrated to the US where he practiced physiology and medicine at Baylor College of Medicine and mathematics at Rice University in Houston Texas.
His research focused on the physiology of exercise and space and collaborated in the preparation of NASA's first manned mission and subsequent joint projects with NASA and Baylor.
